To each invocation we reply:

My Jesus, mercy!

Help my brothers and relatives.

Help all my spiritual and temporal benefactors.

Help those who have been my friends and subjects.

Help those to whom I owe love and prayer.

Help those whom I have harmed and injured.

Help those who have wronged me.

Help those to whom you profess predilection.

Help those who are closer to union with you.

Help those who desire you most ardently.

Help those who suffer most.

Help those who are farthest from their liberation.

Help those who receive the least help.

Help those who have the most merit for the Church.

Help those who were rich here, and there are the poorest.

Help the powerful, who are now as vile servants.

Help the blind who now recognize their blindness.

Help the vain who have wasted their time.

Help the poor who did not seek divine riches.

Help the lukewarm who have prayed too little.

Help the lazy who have neglected so many good works.

Help those of little faith who have neglected the Holy Sacraments.

Help the backsliders who have been saved only by a miracle of grace.

Help the parents who did not watch over their children well.

Help the superiors who were not attentive to the salvation of their subjects.

Help the poor men, who almost only cared for money and pleasure.

Help those of worldly spirit who did not use their riches or talents for heaven.

Help the foolish, who saw so many die, not remembering their own death.

Help those who did not dispose of their house in time, being completely unprepared for the most important journey.

Help those whom you will judge all the more severely, the more it was entrusted to them.

V. Give, O Lord, to all souls eternal rest.

R. And shine upon them your eternal light.

V. May they rest in peace.

R. Amen.

Saint Joseph, I need a Dad. You know that I don’t have a father. I can’t count on a strong, comforting, and wise guide to protect and care for me. I feel alone.

1. Would you be my father?

2. Would you do for me all that you did for Jesus?

3. Would you provide the fathering I never had?

4. Would you prepare me for life, even though I am all grown up?

5. Would you teach me to love Jesus the way you did?

6. Would you provide for me, teaching me how to make my life in this world with dignity, justice, and peace?

7. Would you help me have a meaningful life, a depth of soul, and strength of character that would allow me to completely fulfill my life’s mission entrusted to me by God?

I feel now that I am not alone. You are my foster father, given to me by God. Thank you for hearing my prayer.

Amen.

Come, Holy Spirit, Divine Creator, true source of light and fountain of wisdom! Pour forth your

brilliance upon my dense intellect, dissipate the darkness which covers me, that of sin and of

ignorance. Grant me a penetrating mind to understand, a retentive memory, method and ease in

learning, the lucidity to comprehend, and abundant grace in expressing myself. Guide the

beginning of my work, direct its progress, and bring it to successful completion. This I ask

through Jesus Christ, true God and true man, living and reigning with You and the Father,

forever and ever.

Amen.
